Hedgerows are key features of the Allen Valleys, but despite their importance, many are in poor condition. Whether you have a single hedge in your garden or a whole network of hedgerows across your farm, join us to learn the ancient art of hedgerow management. You will learn how to:
- select appropriate species and plant a hedgerow;
- care for a new hedgerow in its early years;
- cut and maintain it as a stock-proof boundary;
- lay a hedgerow and secure it for future generations.
We will meet at Allendale Village Hall at 10am. The workshop will be practical and we’ll be working outdoors in winter weather, so bring warm and waterproof clothes and a packed lunch. All tools will be provided. Please get in touch to book a place.
