Remaking Beamish – Joe The Quilter

Beamish Museum is recreating the home of Joseph Hedley, known as Joe the Quilter, who lived at WardJoe the Quilter's Cottageen, Northumberland.

How are they doing this and what is the story to tell? Opportunity on the night to look at items from the museum’s Georgian collections, artefacts from an archaeological dig at the site of Joe’s cottage and the chance to try some Georgian inspired crafts.

Thanks to money raised by National Lottery players, Beamish Museum has been awarded £10.9million by the Heritage Lottery Fund for the Remaking Beamish project.
