Have something broken that you don’t want to throw away? An old picture frame you’d love to put on the wall, the pocket that’s come away on your jacket or a jewellery box with a broken catch? We are holding a FREE REPAIR SERVICE DAY which will be run by volunteers to fix small household items for example hinges, clocks, small electrical items, clothes and textiles, toys, tool sharpening and bike maintenance.
Prevent Waste, watch and learn some repair skills and enjoy some tea and cake while you wait.
We regret that we will be unable to accommodate large furniture, petrol powered tools or large machinery. Please only bring items you are able to carry as there is a short walk to the building from any car parking areas.
Due to the use of machinery and tools we request that if children are present they MUST stay with parents or carers at all times at a safe distance from the repairers.
This event is run by volunteers as part of a non-profit enterprise. Repairers will use their discretion as to whether an item is possible to fix but will do their very best and recommend further action if necessary or make external arrangements.
We do not charge for attempting to repair items but we are unable to cover costs of replacement parts. A donation to help build our stock of tools and consumables for future events would be most welcome.
If you need specific parts or fixtures replaced – e.g zips or hinges, please try and bring these along with you.
